Mb Elettronica has been chosen by the world's largest particle physics laboratory as a supplier of important and sophisticated equipment. This laboratory does not need any kind of introduction. It is the European Organisation for Nuclear Research, commonly known as the acronym CERN, which lies on the border between Switzerland and France, on the outskirts of Geneva. Moreover, it is has been directed by the Italian physics Fabiola Gianotti for years.
This partnership between CERN and our company (which is now a leader on the Italian and European market for the design and assembly of electronic boards, fast prototyping, testing and repairing) has been signed a few days ago.
MB Elettronica won an important international tender and has been awarded this prestigious contract.
We were asked to produce specific modules for the converter of the CERN famous proton accelerator, LHC (the biggest and most powerful ever created), because the Centre initiated an improvement project on its performances. MB will produce the equipment named MCPM (Marx Cell Power Module) for the converters which are used to give high-current pulses to magnets, using very specific and sophisticated technologies.
